Speaking at PFMeet: my first talk on freelance tools and habits

Me and Charlotte delivering our talk at PFMeet

Community is a big part of freelance life, and I’m proud to have been the organiser of Portsmouth Freelancers Meet since 2010. If you’re not familiar, it’s a a monthly gathering for local creatives.

This September marked a milestone for me: delivering my first ever talk at PFMeet, alongside brand designer Charlotte Simonsen. We spoke about the tools, systems, and habits that keep our freelance businesses on track.

For me, it was both a personal challenge and a professional opportunity – stepping out from behind the laptop to share experiences with a room full of peers. The conversations that followed reminded me why PFMeet has been such an important part of my freelance journey since the very beginning. Freelancing can be a lonely business that doesn’t come with a manual to get started, and it’s only by sharing our stories that we can inspire and support others on their journey.

If you’d like to see the full write-up, it’s published on the PFMeet blog.
