Accessibility statement
At Starboard, I believe the web should work for everyone.
I’m committed to building websites that are inclusive, easy to use, and accessible to as many people as possible — regardless of ability, technology, or context. That means clear navigation, readable content, and robust code that works with assistive technologies like screen readers and keyboard-only navigation.
How accessibility is baked in
Accessibility isn’t something I bolt on at the end. It’s part of the process from the start – from semantic HTML and proper heading structures to colour contrast, focus states, and responsive layouts. I test across browsers and devices and check key pages using tools like WAVE, Axe, and Lighthouse.
What I aim for
Sites I build aim to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards – the internationally recognised benchmark for accessibility.
Depending on the project, this may include:
- Keyboard-only navigation support
- Sufficient colour contrast
- Logical heading and reading order
- Descriptive link text and alt attributes
- Accessible forms and error messages
- Mobile and screen-reader-friendly layouts
Need help accessing something?
I do my best to make this site easy for everyone to use. But if you run into an issue or need content in a different format, I’d love to help. Please drop me an email at contact@starboardmedia.co.uk and I’ll do what I can to fix it or provide an alternative.
