Designing a fast, flexible website that champions cleanliness and clarity.

The challenge

Nviro are a specialist cleaning provider with a clear mission: to create clean, hygienic and safe environments so their customers can thrive. Their marketing had evolved, their client base had grown, and their team had expanded – but their website no longer reflected that shift. It was time for a modern redesign that would align with their updated messaging and allow for deeper content across key areas like sectors, services, and careers.

Having worked together since 2012, Starboard was brought back in for the latest iteration of the site – a comprehensive redesign and rebuild to bring Nviro’s digital presence up to speed.

Built for scale

The new website needed to be content-rich without feeling overwhelming. I started by working closely with Nviro’s marketing team to plan out new content structures and UX improvements that would support a growing library of case studies and downloadable resources. Using ACF Flexible Content, the build allows their team to add and edit content confidently, without relying on hardcoded templates.

Design with purpose

The visual design evolved into something cleaner and more spacious, aligning with Nviro’s core values. I introduced subtle animations, bold call-to-action areas, and modular content blocks.

We also made use of real photography, including a photoshoot I had the pleasure of attending and helping to direct, to add authenticity and personality to the site.

Technical updates under the hood

The build used HTML5 and Sass compiled with Gulp, keeping the codebase clean, semantic and fast-loading. Accessibility and SEO were considered from the ground up, with testing via WAVE and PageSpeed Insights. The CMS was powered by WordPress with ACF Flexible Content, so their internal team could easily manage the growing content without compromising design.

Continuous collaboration

Over the years I’ve supported Nviro through multiple redesigns, including sector-specific updates and new custom blocks – such as an accordion FAQ system, a related content pull-in block, and revamped call-to-actions. In 2024, we also supported a campaign-specific push for their Independent Schools content, creating new page layouts and blocks to help highlight this key audience.

The result

Nviro’s new website is modern, scalable, and aligned with their marketing goals. It balances extensive content with a focused structure and provides a solid foundation for future updates. Whether it’s showcasing services, recruiting new talent, or publishing insights, the site now supports every aspect of Nviro’s digital strategy.
